Donald Fuerst, 77, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013.


Mr. Fuerst was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. He loved reading, watching movies and westerns on TV and playing Gin Rummy with his best friend Mike Boquet every morning. He was a member of the Houma Civitan Club and received the Civitan Honor Key – the highest award the club can bestow on a member.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Fuerst; sons, Donald (Debbie) and Joseph (Sheryl) Fuerst; sisters, Mary Rosola, Barbara (Lee) Cage and Sharon (Bobby) McLellan; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Fuerst; grandparents, John and Louise Fuerst; and sons, John and Thomas Fuerst.


Burial is at Saint Elizabeth Cemetery in Paincourtville, La. (Chauvin)
