Donald John “Punk” Esponge, 58, a native of Cut Off, La., and resident of Chauvin, La., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013.
Mr. Esponge was devoted to his family and grandchildren. He loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife, Lena Esponge; sons, Al Vinet and Christopher Esponge; daughters, Anna Naquin, Gypsy Pitre, Shirley Smith, Joann Rodrigue and Bridget Dufrene; brothers, Bobby Hebert Jr. and Stanley Taste Jr.; sisters, Bonnie Esponge and Diane Logan; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Oramae Esponge; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Falgout Funeral Chapel in Galliano, La. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. (Falgout)
