Doretha Douglas, 78, a native of Terrebonne Parish, LA. and a resident of Houma, LA., died Tuesday, February 20, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Community Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2007 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson, LA. Burial will be in the New Zion Cemtery in Houma, LA.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Douglas; her son, Elder Philip A. Ruffin and devoted friend, Katina McGuire; her step-daughters, Verna Douglas and Doris William and companion, Joseph of Houma; her sister-in-law, Willie Mae Douglas; 6 granddaughters, Roslyn Harvey and husband, Charles, Montez Garner, Jackie Gilton and husband, David, Freda Pharr and husband, Patrick, Sonjia Sims and husband, Alvin and Dawn Douglas; 4 grandsons, Jerome Parker, Craig Douglas, Delloid Douglas and Shawn Williams; 17 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta Cooks and Alfred Williams; her step-son, Bernie Douglas; her daughter, Emile W. Lee; her sister, Halette Lovely; 1-great grandson, Kenneth Garner; 3 brother-in-laws, Gilbert, Freddie and Cleveland Douglas; and 5 sister-in-laws, Olivia Davis, Virgina Theriot, Leola Aubert, Lilly Wilkerson and Mercedes Douglas.
Community Funeral Home is in charged of arrangements.
