Doretha Flakes, 82, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, June 19, at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Mitchell and Elizabeth Flakes, both of Thibodaux; sons, Raymond Flakes Jr. and Ralph Flakes of Thibodaux and Joinel Flakes and wife Gail Flakes of Houma, La.; sister, Louise Edmonds Walker of Thibodaux; brothers, Whitney Edmonds Jr. and Raymond Edmonds, both of Thibodaux; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Flakes Sr.; and parents, Whitney Edmonds Sr. and Beulah Dryer.
She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Her hobbies included cooking and reading.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Morning Star Baptist Church on Brule Road in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
