Dorothy Jean Mire, 75, a native of Clarendon, Ark., and resident of Morgan City, La., died Tuesday, May 14, 2013.


Mrs. Mire was deeply rooted in Arkansas and loved going back home to visit family. She was a great caregiver to her grandchildren and to local working parents. She also loved to cook for her family. She enjoyed being in the outdoors tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, feeding the birds and fishing.


She is survived by her children, Sheri (Juan) Reyes, Terry Perry and Brian (Danielle) Mire; sister, Marie Mondy; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Minnie Dillard; husband Harold Mire; daughter, Sharon O’Quinn; brother, Lloyd Dillard; and sister, Christine Hebert.

Visitation will be 9 to 11:45 a.m. Friday, May 17, at Twin City Funeral Home with graveside services at 12 p.m. at Morgan City Cemetery. (Twin City)
