Dorothy “Maw & Me Maw” Gros Rivere, 76, a native of Napoleonville, La., and a resident of Plattenville, La., died at 12:31 p.m. Tuesday, May 13.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward J. Rivere; daughters, Charlotte Naquin and husband, Nolan, Susan Foret and husband, Daniel, and Judy Jarreau and husband, Steve; brothers, Mervin and Leroy Gros; sisters, Virgie Morrison, Bessie Webb and Barbara Landry; grandchildren, Chad Naquin and Casey Jarreau; and great-grandchildren, Jared, Michael and Logan Naquin and Cohen Jarreau.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Mabel Delaune Gros; brother, Elmo Gros Jr.; and sisters, Joyce Crescioni, Hazel Rivere and Laura Gros.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Landry’s Funeral Home in Napoleonville and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Assumption Catholic Church in Plattenville with mass to follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.

Landry’s Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
