Douglas Joseph Boudreaux, 94, a native of Donner, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Sept. 7.


He is survived by three brothers, John, Eldridge and Louis Boudreaux, all of Thibodaux, La.; three sisters, Ora Adams of Schriever, La., Louise Malbrough of Marrero, La., and Myrtle Burns of Algiers, La.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and companion, Catherine A. LeBoeuf of Houma.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Hebert; one son, Ted Joseph Boudreaux; parents, Charles Boudreaux and Lidia LeBouef Boudreaux; five brothers, Clifford, Charlie, Chester, Logan Rivern and Elmore Boudreaux; and two sisters, Lydia and Loretta Boudreaux.

He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church. He was a self-employed barber for 55 years. He was a member of the North Houma Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years, an honorary charter member of the Bayou Black Volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of Bayou Cane Fire Department. He started the Coteau Volunteer Fire Department, Bayou Black Fire Department and the Bayou Cane Fire Department.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Chauvin Funeral Home with a prayer service to follow. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray, La.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
