October 23, 2012Duane Cross Mayon, 81, a resident of Morgan City, La., died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.
Mrs. Mayon was an active member of Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church where she was involved in choir, UMCOR, VBS and was a board member of staff parish relations. She worked at Lakewood Hospital for many years. The many things in life that brought her joy were family, friends and gardening.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Cloutier; brother, Harry Cross; daughters, Marsha (Lenny) Gray, Nedra (Thaddeus) Marcell, Margo (John) Irwin and Marleah (Bradley) Overton; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Mayon; parents, Charles and Hazel Cross; sisters, Ester Cross and Charlene Lewis; and brother, Charles Cross.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church with services to follow. Burial will be at Morgan City Cemetery. (Twin City)
