Residents raising a stink brings results on sewage odor

Dumas “John” M. Pitre Jr., 81, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011.
Mr. Pitre was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sons, David (Sandra), Ronald (Peggy) and Alan Pitre; daughters, Gail (Jimmie) Griffin, Jeanne (Steve) Rodrigue and Patty (Teddy) Cheramie; brother, Easton (Mildred) Pitre; family friend, Jack Clifton; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alzina Pitre; parents, Dumas Sr. and Helise Pitre; an infant son; brother, Edward Pitre; sisters, Josephine Guidry, Lorida Serigny and Lorita Falgout; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 27 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano, La. (Falgout)
