Edith “Dotsy” Fauntleroy Smith, 70, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, June 1, at 9:46 a.m.


She is survived by her husband, Stan Smith; son, Clint Smith and wife Kecia Savoie; daughters, Julie George, Linda George Waguespack and husband Andre, and Nell George Falgoust and husband Rodney; sister, Sybil Ray; brother-in-law, Bobby Barker Sr.; grandchildren, Gretchen Falgoust, Luke Falgoust, Alexandria Smith, Emily Smith and Mary Kate Smith; and family friend, Chris Ziadie.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Leonard Fauntleroy; sisters, Rosalie Barker and Beverly Jones; and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Jones and Dr. Paul Ray.

She will always be remembered for her loving and kind heart. She was a wonderful woman, mother, sister and wife who truly cared about her family and friends.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Thibodaux with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Landry’s Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of the arrangements.
