Edna Lee Walters Brown, 91, a native of Oakdale, LA. and resident of Houma, LA., died after a lenghtly illness with Alzheimers, at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007.


Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma and from 1 p.m. to funeral time Sunday at First Baptist Church of Houma. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with burial in Twin Cities Memorial Garden in West Monroe.


She is survived her husband of 63 years, Willis C. Brown; two daughters, Beverly B. Young and Dixie Brown and husband, Thomas Becnel; one granddaughter, Abigail Brown Becnel; and one sister, Mary V. VanHorn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Ada Huff Walters; one brother, Truett Walters; and four sisters, Iris Miley, Jess Skipper, Rubye Ludwig and Rene Wyche.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
