Edna Virginia Boothe Hardee, 98, a native of Fernandina, Fla., and resident of Morgan City, La., died Sunday; Oct. 21, 2012.

Mrs. Hardee began her life of volunteer service as a charter member of Lakewood Hospital’s Ladies Auxiliary (The Pink Ladies) where she held a lifetime membership and recorded over 15,000 service hours. She was also an avid pianist and taught all of her grandchildren and many of her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf and traveling to the beach. She loved needlepoint, cross stitching, tatting, knitting and crocheting.


She is survived by her children, Marvin Jr. (Maria), Richard (Ila) and Conley (Ruthie) Hardee, Dana (Joe Jr.) Bruni and Elna (Thomas) Jones; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hardee Sr.; parents, James Boothe and Edna Weimer; brother, Conley Boothe; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. (Twin City)
