Elgin “Gene” Joseph Ledet, a native of Montegut, La., and resident of Haslet, Texas, died Friday, Feb.10, 2012.


Mr. Ledet was a 2nd Lt. Air Corp officer during World War II and a B25 pilot in the 11th Air Force, 77th Bomb Squadron. He was awarded the Air Medal, Asiatic Pacific ribbon and the Presidential Citation ribbon. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Lions Club and Knights of Columbus.


He is survived by his daughters, Gayle (Cecil) Hebert and Faye (Doug) Bartley; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ledet; son, Don Ledet; and parents, Marius and Lucille Ledet.

Interment was at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery in Bourg, La. (Chauvin)
