Elie P. Callahan, 68, a native of Cut Off, La., and a resident of Larose, La., died Thursday, September 25, at 3:05 p.m.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Audrey Callahan; sons, Freddie Rodrigue, Christopher Fonseca Sr. and Frank Fonseca; daughters, Connie Comardelle and Annette Rodrigue; sister, Jane Savoie; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Leonise Toups Callahan; brothers, Colden Callahan and Leon Callahan; and sisters, May Robichaux and Eloise Dantin.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, September 27, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with mass to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
