Ellis James Bourgeois, 49, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Thursday, March 19, at 11:19 a.m.
He is survived by his mother, Marion Matherne Bourgeois; brother, Norris P. Bourgeois Jr.; and sisters, Nancy Rodrigue, Susan Bankston, Sally Babin and Linda Aucoin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norris P. Bourgeois Sr.
He was employed with Delta Towing as a tugboat captain.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a favorite charity.
No services are scheduled.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
