Mary June Brown Breaux, 74, a lifelong resident of the St. Charles, La., community, died Saturday, March 21.

She is survived by her children, Richard “Dickie” Breaux and wife Wanda, William “Billy” Breaux and wife Donna, Mary Lou Breaux Carbo and husband Eric, Christopher Breaux and wife Mary Lynn, John Breaux, Craig Breaux and wife Carla, and Jennifer Breaux; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Brown Jr. and Gladys LeBoeuf Brown; three infant siblings; and her longtime companion and loving pet dachshund Oscar who passed away on Saturday shortly after his owner.

She was born in Terrebonne Parish, La., on February 25, 1935, to parents Guy and Gladys Brown. She graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1954. After high school, she married and began a family in the St. Charles community where she lived for the remainder of her life. She is fondly remembered at St. Anne General Hospital where she served as a business office supervisor until her retirement, but her most important accomplishments and proudest moments were the births and happy moments she spent with her seven children. She dedicated her life to their care and happiness.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the dedicated sitters and staff at Chabert Medical Center.

“When you have loved as she has loved, you grow old beautifully,” – W. Somerset Maugham.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Thibodaux, La., with mass to follow. Entombment will be at the church mausoleum.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
