Elmo Guidry Sr., 85, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010.


Mr. Guidry was of the Catholic faith. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign where he earned two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.


He is survived by sons, Randy, Rickey, Elmo Jr., Bob Sr. and Jason Guidry; sisters, Neta Cheramie, Marcella Griffin, Ethel McNabb and Jennie Lee Reding; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Falgout Guidry; parents, Ellis and Melodia Autin Guidry; daughter, Lana Guidry; brothers, Elden and Bob Guidry; sister, Irene Guidry; and grandchildren, Adam Bourg Jr. and Theresa Guidry.

He is buried at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Cut Off.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
