Elsie Ira Breaux, 83, a native of Chester, Ms., and a resident of Bayou Black, La., died Monday, March 9.


She is survived by her husband, Rivers Anthony Breaux Sr.; sons, Robert Patrick Breaux and wife Evelyn, Craig James Breaux, and Charles Frederick Breaux and wife Mona; daughters, Peggy Breaux Kraemer and Nancy Breaux Bonvillain and husband O’Neill; brother, Wayne B. Crowson; sisters, Myrtis Barrett and Alberta Philips; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Brown and Carrie Lidell Crowson; son, Rivers “Tony” Breaux Jr.; brothers, Earl O. Crawson, Wafford T. Crowson, Everett A. Crowson and Burry Crowson; and sisters, Burlon Cox and Bethie “Marie” Crowson.

She was a member of the St. Anthony Ladies Altar Society and a member of the St. Anthony Church Choir.

Burial was at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
