Emily Kraemer Albert, 98, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 1:17 a.m. Sunday, August 3.

She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Legendre Alford and husband Robert of Houma, La., Gail Legendre Sonier of Houma and Karen Albert Tabor and husband Ken of Thibodaux; four step-daughters, Julia Albert Zeringue, Lois Albert Traill, Marjorie Albert and Delores Albert Adams; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lucien Legendre; her second husband, Ernest Albert Jr.; her parents, Louis Kraemer and Eve Morris Kraemer; one son, Jerry Legendre; one son-in-law, Donnie Sonier; four brothers, Blaise Kraemer, Avie “Al” Kraemer, Didier Kraemer and Wilson Kraemer; and two sisters, Julia Kraemer Ford and Carrie “Kay” Kraemer Landry.


The family is grateful for all the dedication, kindness and excellent care given by the staff of Bayou Region Hospice, the staff at St. Joseph Manor and her caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Bayou Region Hospice, 195 Corporate Drive, Houma, La. 70360.

She was a seamstress for many years and was retired from Arthur Copeland’s. She was a parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux with mass to follow. She will be buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
