Emily Simoneaux Cavalier, 92, a native of Napoleonville, La., and a resident of Schriever, La., died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 14.


She is survived by her husband, Fernand Cavalier; five sons, Jerome Cavalier and wife Geraldine, Jessie Cavalier and wife Betty, Pete Cavalier and wife Charlene, Charles Cavalier and wife Anita, and Gary Cavalier and wife Sheila; two daughters, Rosemary Besson and Lucy Birchfield and husband Bobby; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Veneda Rivere Simoneaux; one infant son, David Cavalier; two sons-in-law, Andrew Besson and Benny Circello; two daughters, infant Gladys Cavalier and Agnes C. Circello; five brothers, Oliver, Devillier, Olivier, Gilmore and Edward “None None” Simoneaux; one sister, Medora Rivere; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, January 15, at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, January 16, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Paincourtville, La.
