Emma Chafin

Emma Dell (Lynn) Matherne Chafin, 83, a resident of Houma, La., died Dec. 11, 2015.

Mrs. Chafin had a very strong faith in God. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and sewed banners for the altar. She was a member of the Homemakers Club, Houma Doll Club, and, at one time, three Pokeno clubs. She was a true homemaker and an accomplished seamstress, cake decorator and gardener. She collected dolls and loved decorating her home, as well as helping others with their homes.

Mrs. Chafin is survived by her children, Mary (Peter) Pizzolatto, Debra (Walter) DuBois, James (Kimberly) Chafin III and Peggy (Michael) Dugas; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, John Matherne; and sisters-in-law.

Burial is at St. Francis de Sales No. 2.
