Emma Julie Bertrand, 82, a resident of Morgan City, La., died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.
Mrs. Bertrand was a very strong Catholic who was devoted to her prayers and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed dancing to Cajun music, playing cards, crocheting and traveling. She was a member of the Bayou Ramblers and the Bayou Allegro camping clubs.
She is survived by her children, Donna (Edward Jr.) Jones, Faith Wilson, E.J. Jr. (Rosario) Bertrand, Monica Governale and Deborah (Donald) Keller; sisters, Barbara Persilver and Leda; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theophile and Leda Chaisson; husband, Eldridge Bertrand Sr.; daughter, Lisa Bertrand; two sisters; two brothers; and two grandchildren.
Interment was at Morgan City Mausoleum. (Twin City)
