Ernest J. Vedros, 77, a native of Mathews, La., and resident of Lockport, La., died Friday, April 18, 2014. Mr. Vedros was an usher and Eucharistic minister at St. Hilary Catholic Church. He was a volunteer fireman for 50 years, member of the Fire District Board, American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He retired from Texaco after 25 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Theoma Vedros; daughters, Priscilla (Carl) Waguespack and Michelle (Leon III) Foret; stepmother, Bella Vedros; sisters, Brenda Vedros and Linda (Wallace) Landry; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Ida Vedros; brother, Lawrence Vedros; and sister, Rita Dufrene.
Burial is at St. Hilary Catholic Church Cemetery in Raceland, La. (Falgout)
