Ernest Voisin, 81, a native and resident of Theriot, La., died Thursday, Sept. 10, at 2:48 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Ann (Mohrmann) Voisin; two sons, Michael Christopher Voisin and wife Sarah (Theriot) Voisin, and Steven Anthony Voisin and wife Alicia (Mashburn) Voisin; two step-sons, Dion Allen Frayle and Chad Anthony Frayle; two daughters, Sandra Ann (Voisin) Fitzgerald and husband William Fitzgerald, and Lorena Helen Voisin; one brother, Charles J.B. Voisin; two sisters, Claire Rose (Voisin) Champagne and Annie Laura Voisin; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Shanahan Voisin and Joyce Trantham Voisin; parents, Linest Adam Voisin and Lorena Helen (Champagne) Voisin; one son, Gregory Andrew Voisin; four brothers, Linwood (Tamp) Voisin, Wiltz (Doo) Voisin, James Paul Voisin and George William (Bill) Voisin; one sister, Mary Leona (Voisin) Rhodes; and grandparents, Wiltz and Florestine Champagne, and Leonce and Odile (Benoit) Voisin.
He was Catholic and a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. He was a former Terrebonne Parish Police Juror (1980-1984), and a former member of the Rotary Club. He was the Louisiana Oyster King in 1976. He was the owner and chairman of the board for Motivatit Seafoods.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
