Graham Frank, 5, of Houma, wasn’t deterred by a blown transformer at Books-A-Million Friday night. The young boy and his mother, Regina, waited among the faithful for 12:01 a.m. when the seventh – and final – book in the popular J.K. Rowling’s "Harry Potter" series went on sale. Dressed as a young Harry, Graham was more interested in the costume contest than actually reading the book. In fact, Regina Frank said, "Mom gets dibs on the book." Ethel Marie Theriot Foret, 92, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at 8:25 p.m.


She is survived by one daughter, Mary Foret Verdun and her husband Dr. Larry J. Verdun; one sister, Inez T. Boudreaux; two grandchildren, Tiffany V. Galey and her husband Donovan, and Dr. Todd D. Verdun and his wife Jennifer; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica Rose Galey and Sophia Mary Galey.


She was preceded in death by her husband, David Eugene Foret; her parents, Louis Theriot and Matilde Gaudet Theriot; two brothers, Louis and Augustine Theriot; and five sisters, Edna T. Degruise, Elena T. Babin, Hedwidge T. Melancon, Exse T. Waguespack and Lydia T. Danos.

Ethal was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. She was a former member of the Ladies Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Visitation is Monday July 23, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux. She will be buried in the church cemetery.

Landry Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of the arrangements.
