July 7, 2010Eula Mae L. “Mae Mae” Cheramie, 89, a native of Amelia, La., and resident of Lockport, La., died Sunday, July 4, 2010.
Mrs. Cheramie was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church and a member of the Holy Savior Ladies Altar Society.
She is survived by her son, Palmer “Poochie” (Joy) Cheramie; stepsons, Russell and Clarence Jr. Cheramie; daughter, Maenell “Minnie” Douglas; stepdaughters, Willa Mae Rodriguez and Gladys Plaisance; brother, Philip Lajunie, sister, Olive Portier; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cheramie Sr.; parents, Philip and Zoemie Lee Lajunie; son-in-law, Joseph Douglas; three brothers, Roy, Norris and Lloyd Lajunie; and three sisters, Irene Breaux, Elma Grow and Lucinda Loupe.
She is buried at S. Andrew Cemetery in Amelia.
