Evan E. White, 75, a native of Gary, In., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24.
He is survived by his wife, Garnet Gaston White; three daughters, JaLane Gilbert and husband, Tommy, of Altus, Ok., Ginger Dempster and husband, A.J., of Chackbay, La., and Candis Sanders and husband, Samuel, of Houma; one brother, Everett White and wife, Mary; one sister, Linda Matt and husband, John; six grandchildren, Billy Jay Gilbert, Kevin Gilbert, Kristin Russell, Krystal Dempster, A.J. Dempster and Jason Dempster; nine great-grandchildren; and his faithful dog Lucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Evan White and Mamie Cousins White; one great-grandson, Trey Gilbert; and one sister, Bernadine Moore.
He was a proud retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force of 30 years. He died of complications related to injuries after falling.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma with a memorial service to follow.
Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
