Evans “Boo” Matherne, 89, a native of Gheens, La., and resident of Des Allemands, La., died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009.
He is survived by a daughter, Elaine (Derrill) Templet; four grandchildren, Stacy, Lance, Travis and Tiffany; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eldieth Vicknair Matherne; his parents, Dennis and Eleonore Matherne; brothers, Leon “Bee,” Joe, Cleveland and Dennis “Bud” Matherne; and sisters, Blanche Cressoni and Lydia Dardar.
Mr. Matherne was a parishioner of First Assembly of God Des Allemands. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening and raising cattle.
He is buried at Matherne Cemetery.
