Evelyn Marie Robichaux Poché, 62, native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, La., died at 8:02 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, after a long battle with cancer.


Mrs. Poché was a parishioner and extraordinary minister of the Eucharist at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Bayou Black, La. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and vacationing with her family. She is the former owner of Body and Soul religious store and worked in the medical field for over 45 years. Most recently, she was the certified medical coder for Bayou Surgical Specialists for 5 wonderful doctors.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Poché; sons, Philip Jr. “Peppy” (Laura) and Greg (Pamela) Poché; daughter, Angela “Angi” (Bobby) Charpentier; six grandchildren, Zachary and Meghan Poché, James and Emily Charpentier and Ciera and Damian Poché; mother, Beulah Robichaux; sister, Catherine Robichaux; brothers, Allie (Melvena), Donald (Millie), Wayne (Judy), Cary (Natalie), Jody (Regina) and Tommy Robichaux.


She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd A. Robichaux; two brothers, Floyd J. and Michael Robichaux; and one nephew, Floyd J. Robichaux.

The family would like to give special thanks to her medical team, Dr. Mike Watkins, Dr. Harry McGaw, Dr. Richard Abben, Dr. Gregory Maidoh, Dr. David Caletri, her wonderful nurses at TGMC CCU, her friends/doctors/employers, Dr. Fritz Rau, Dr. David Rau, Dr. Eric Rau, Dr. D. P. Schwab, Dr. Christopher Berry, her spiritual advisors, Reverend Joseph Tu Tran, Sister Miriam Mire, Reverend Danny Poché and Reverend Josh Rodrigue for their guidance, compassion, and care.

She is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
