Francis Xavier Govers II, 75, a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014.

Mr. Govers enjoyed reading books, working with computers, collecting vintage model vehicles and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Going to the casinos with his wife was his greatest pleasure. He retired from Patterson Services after 33 years and was a member of the Thibodaux Amateur Radio Club and Army Mars. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Govers; sons, Francis III (Carol) and David (Desiree) Govers and Danny Ralston; daughters, Elizabeth (Spencer) Aucoin and Valerie (John) Buzalsky; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Franics and Mabel Govers; sister, Sally Ann Gray; and one grandchild. (Chauvin)
