Gaston J. Simon, 84, a native of Vacherie, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 6:18 a.m. Friday, December 12.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline Richard Simon; two sons, Rodney Simon and wife Debbie, and Robert Simon and wife Geraldine; two daughters, Cathe DeRoche and husband Glenn, and Deirdre Broussard and husband Vance; two brothers, Nolan and Raymond Simon; three sisters, Rosemary Luquette, Mary Margaret Hotard and Lucille Gendron; 10 grandchildren, Crystal, Rodney and Rickey Simon, Daniel, Christopher and Angelle DeRoche, Taylor Simon, Andre, Adrienne and Caroline Broussard; and one great-grandchild, Claire DeRoche.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer Simon and Sophie Heltz Simon; two brothers, Willie and Elmore Simon; and two sisters, Rosalie Bacas and Odette Simon.
Burial was at St. Philip Catholic Church Cemetery in Vacherie.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
