Gene Paul Bonvillain Sr., 66, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011.
Mr. Bonvillain was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved spending time with his family. He was passionate about his job and always did the best for the people of Terrebonne Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Bonvillain; children, Donavon and Dominique Bonvillain and Stephanie (Troy) Autin; stepchildren, Tanya (Rudy) Smith, Tiffany (Justin) Thomas and Travis (Casey) and Traci Bonvillain; brothers, Clark and Allen Bonvillain; sisters, Mae Morgan, Marion Bonvillain and Betty Cosse’; three grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayes Sr. and Hazel Bonvillain; son, Gene Bonvillain Jr.; and brothers, Hayes Jr. and James Bonvillain.
Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
