Genevieve Marcello Haydel, 74, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, April 30, at 8:15 a.m.
She is survived by her husband, Karl Gerald Haydel Sr., M.D. of Houma; sons, Karl Gerald Haydel Jr., M.D., Michael Stephen Haydel, M.D., Henry “Larry” Haydel, M.D., and Patrick Samuel Haydel, D.C.; daughters, Heidi Haydel Bealer, Carol Ann Haydel, Charlene Haydel Hebert, Genevieve Haydel Juneau and Michelle Haydel Capello; sisters, Rose Carbello and Iona Bergeron; and 20 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Marcello and Marie Thibodeaux Marcello.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 2, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with mass to follow. She will be buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
