George Edward Canty, Jr., 70, a lifelong resident of Berwick, died Thursday, July 14, 2011.
Mr. Canty loved hunting, fishing and trapping and was an avid gun collector and boat builder. He was an engineer with Tide Water Marine for 42 years.
He is survived by his wife, Una Bruney; daughter, Gwendolyn (Douglas) Tellman; sons, Shawn (Tammy) and Bannon Canty; sister, Josephine LaCoste; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Sidney Grow; son, George Canty III; brother, Carl Canty; and sister, Mary Gallier.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 17 and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 18 at Twin City Funeral Home with services to follow. Burial will be at Berwick Cemetery. (Twin City)
