Gilbert “Big G” Johnson, 82, a native of Napoleonville, La., and resident of Gretna, La., died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010.
Mr. Johnson was a retired World War II, Korean and Vietnam War veteran and a retired U.S. Postal worker.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Johnson; daughters, Elise Johnson, Royce and Tammy Smith; son, Troy Smith; sisters, Gloria (Lawrence) Jamison, Gerline Stemley and Gladys Ewing; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Burial with full U.S. Airforce military honors was at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church Cemetery.
