Gillis ‘Big Money’ Raymond Sr.

Gillis “Big Money” Raymond Sr., a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009.

He is survived by his son, Gillis Raymond Jr.; brothers, Curtis, Stanley, Ulysses and Eric Raymond; sisters, Joyce Porter, Jo Anne Smith and Laverne Raymond; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Sr. and Earline Raymond; brother, Nelson Raymond Jr.; sister, Shirley Poindexter; and grandparents, Johnny Davis Sr. and Ethel Jennings Davis.

Mr. Raymond was Baptists.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland. The fuleral will follow at 11 a.m.

He will be buried at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland.
