Gladys Marie Roux Webre, 91, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014.
Mrs. Webre was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. She was a retired educator and a gracious lady whose life was centered on faith, kindness to others and love for her family. She traveled to many countries but found more enjoyment in taking care of her home and family. Even in her later years, her intellect remained alert and sharp, primarily because of her vibrant interest in other people.
She is survived by her daughters, Judie Martinez and Mary (Chris) Terracina; sons, Preston Jr. (Sydney) and Robert (Debi) Webre; sister, Dorris Richard; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Webre Sr.; parents, Venance and Vivian Roux; and sisters, Jeanne Tipton and Joyce Jones.
Burial is at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Landry’s)
