Gladys Ruth Valure Burton, 76, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, February 26, at 2:20 p.m.
She is survived by her sons, James “Jimmy” Burton Jr. and wife Bessie of Houma, Kim Burton and wife Donna of Houma, and Kevin Burton and wife Jodie of Houma; daughter, Kayla Burton and fiance, Reggie Aucoin of Houma; brothers, Anthony “T-Joe” Valure, H.P. Valure, David Valure and Ricky Valure; sister, Catherine Pellegrin; grandchildren, Allison M. Burton, Ph.D. of Houston, Tx., Beau Burton and wife Amy of Houma, Tyler Burton of Houma, Michael Burton and wife Stacey of Houma, Kyle Burton and fiance Stephanie Cruise of Houma, Brandi Burton and fiance Trent Darcey of Houma, Joshua Tryba of Las Vegas, Nv., Stephanie Cangelosi of Houma, Cynthia Cangelosi of Houma and Tristyn Aucoin of Houma; step-grandchildren, Bradley Bourg, Alex Breaux and Macy Breaux; and great-grandchildren, Derrick Burton, Payton Darcey and Dylan Darcey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Burton Sr.; parents, Joseph and Ruth Dryden Valure and sister, Dorothy Strange.
She was a member of East Park Ladies Auxiliary and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
