Gracie Lee Long Vargas, 78, a native of Winnfield, La., and resident of Harvey, La., and Thibodaux, La., died Thursday, April 17, 2014.
Mrs. Vargas was a teacher for 21 years at St. Rosalie Catholic School in Harvey.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, David Vargas; daughter, Cindy (Kenneth Sr.) Richard; sisters, Earline Boyett and Virginia Rolen; brother, Earl Long Jr.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Long Sr. and Edrye Simms.
Visitation will be 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery. (Thibodaux)
