Guy Gregorie Gauthreaux, 88, a native of White Castle, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, June 1, 2014.
Mr. Gauthreaux earned a high school letter in boxing and was a combat veteran of World War II. In 1958, he joined the South Thibodaux Fire Co. as a charter member. He was an adult scout leader in the early 1960’s and was a charter member and first president of the E.D. White Band Boosters. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from Shell Oil after 32 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Clarice Gauthreaux; sons, Guy II (Debbie) and Joey (Chrystal) Gauthreaux; daughters, Gwen (Brusle) Sherburne and Kay (Dale) Dugruise; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clebert and Bertha Gautreaux; brothers, Alvin and Haywood; and sisters, Beatrice Sanchez, Pearl Wilson, Ledonia Ponsano and Anne Jordan.
Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Landry’s)
