Hazel Duet Robichaux, 84, a native of Cut Off, La., and resident of Lafayette, La., died Monday, March 21, 2011.


Mrs. Robichaux, at the young age of 16, taught school in Lafourche Parish during WWII. She was a member of the Lafourche Parish Democratic Committee and the Catholic Daughters of America and a loyal parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Most of all, she was a loving, devoted wife and mother and will be most deeply missed.


She is survived by her son, Terry Luke Charpentier; stepdaughter, Beverly Mallett; three step-grandchildren, MaryBeth, Ann and Jane; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Pierre Robichaux; her first husband, Luke “Smokey” Charpentier; parents, Absalom Duet and the former Emphrasie Guidry; and two brothers, Stanley and Linton Duet.

She is interred at Fountain Memorial Cemetery. (Fountain Memorial of Lafayette)
