Helouise Hanzy Douglas, 70, a native of Gibson, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, December 28, at 7:10 p.m.
She is survived by her son, Darius Jehan Douglas; daughters, Darlene Douglas Player and Dominque K. Douglas; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Douglas Sr.; parents, Oliver and Louise Hanzy; son, Nolan Douglas Jr.; and sister, Floretta Hanzy Nisby.
She was Baptist and a member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church where she served on the Pastor Aide Committee. She was retired from the Terrebonne Parish School Board
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 3 at New Rising Sun Baptist Church with the funeral services to follow. Burial will be at New Rising Sun Baptist Church Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
