Horace Antoine Duplantis, 81, a native of Little Caillou, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday December 23.
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Duplantis of Houma, Carol Duplantis of Houma and Jeanette Adams and husband Butch of Port Allen; son, Wade Duplantis Sr. and wife Connie of Houma; brothers, Ellery Duplantis of Houma and Alex Duplantis of Pensacola, Fl.; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esope Duplantis and Julia Hemker Duplantis; wife, Ethel Marie Maronge Duplantis; sister, Nina Duplantis; and grandchild, Andre A. Bourgeois III.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday December 26, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday December 27, at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be at 10 a.m. Saturday with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
