Inez “Lou” Porche Matherne, 91, a native of Houma,La., and a resident of Avondale, La., died Friday, July 13, 2007, at 1:00 p.m.
She is survived by two daughters, Loyce M. Loup and her husband Charles and Diana M. Savoie LeBlanc and her husband Danny; one son-in-law, Donald Hidalgo; two sisters, Agnes Veto and Elvie Jambon; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus “Thad” Matherne; her parents, Eddy and Onesia Pitre Porche; two daughters, Joyce Hidalgo and Betty Marie Matherne; two brothers, Madio and Levy Porche; and two sisters, Mathile Foret and Lena Martin.
Inez was a devout Methodist and a member of Bayou Blue Methodist Church.
Visitation is Monday, July 16, 2007 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at Bayou Blue Methodist Church in Bayou Blue. She will be buried at Roger Cemetery in Bayou Blue.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
