Irene Lajaunie Breaux, 89, a native of Assumption Parish and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, July 13, 2007, at 4:45 a.m.
She is survived by her two daughters, Margaret B. Cunningham and Judy B. Babin; one brother, Philip Lajaunie; three sisters, Eula Mae L. Cheramie, Lucinda L. Loupe and Olive L. Portier; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Alfred Breaux; her parents, Philip Lajaunie and Zoemie Lee Lajaunie; one son, Curtis Joseph Breaux; three brothers, Lloyd, Norris and Roy Lajaunie; and one sister, Elma L. Grow.
Irene was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma. She was a retired maintenance person with Terrebonne Memorial Park.
She is buried at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Houma.
Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
