Jack Arnold Flippo, 75, a native of Trion, Ga., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Sept. 5, at 9:50 p.m.


He is survived by two stepsons, Noland P. Breaux Sr. and wife Anna Mae B. Breaux, and Roland P. Breaux Sr. and wife Julia M. Breaux, all of Bayou Gauche, La.; one step daughter-in-law, Loretta D. Breaux of Bayou Gauche; one brother, Ronald E. Flippo wife Doris H. Flippo of Summerville, Ga.; two brothers-in-law, Carl H. Hayes of Stockbridge, Ga., and Paul S. Doty of Jonesboro, Ga.; 10 step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends and neighbors.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Matherne Flippo; parents, James H. Flippo amd Annie Lou Brady Flippo; step mother, Roxie R. Flippo; one step daughter, Frances Breaux; one step son, Noah J. Breaux; one step granddaughter, Sheila A. Breaux; one step grandson, Noland P. Breaux Jr.; three sisters, Barbara Hayes, Judy Doty and Evelyn Lawson; and one brother, James F. Flippo.

He was an electronics roustabout and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He loved music and occasionally played the piano at Maison De’Ville nursing home, where he had been a resident for the past three years.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Chauvin Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Matherne Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
