Jacqueline “Jackie” Theresa Guidry Crochet, 67, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 4:58 a.m. Wednesday, November 12.


She is survived by her husband, Joseph “J.V.” Vincent Crochet of Houma; her mother, Winona Dazee Guidry of Thibodaux, La.; two sons, Bennet Crochet and wife Erin of Madison, Wi., and Garret Crochet and wife Shatel of Houma; one daughter, Eugenie Brown and husband Chris of Houma; one sister, Joan Guidry Babin of Houma; one sister-in-law, Suzanne Crochet of Houma; four grandchildren, Jessica Brown, Lilly Crochet, Ruby Crochet and Margeaux Crochet; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her father, J.E. “Hurry Hurry” Guidry; her grandparents, Joseph and Mathilde DeLaune Dazee, Demais and Yumah Manceaux Guidry; and her mother and father-in-law, Curll J. Crochet and Elise Margaret Hebert Crochet.

She was a receptionist with Special Ed with the Terrebonne Parish School Board, a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters and a 1958 graduate of St. Francis School. She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, November 14, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
