Haiti’s hardship helped by local charities

James “Dickey” Allen, 60, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, La., died on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010.
Mr. Allen was Baptist. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Linda Allen; son, Randy Allen; daughter, Inca Allen; brothers, J.C., Michael, Terrell, Keith and Bryant Allen; sisters, Barbara Allen, Janice Harding, Elizabeth Ponder, Mary Mitchell, Gwendolyn Nixon and Geraldlyn Martin; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Lorrene Allen; parents, John and Audrey Allen; and sister, Elnoria Williams.
A memorial service in Mr. Allen’s memory will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Community Funeral Home.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
