James Edward “Kabooby” Harris, 52, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, August 2.


He is survived by his wife, Constance Harris; daughters, Jasmine Nicole Harris and Ericka Wolfe both of Houma; son, Minister Jamison Tamoine Harris; brothers, Thomas J. Harris and wife Betty of Detroit, Mi., and Alton Harris of Houma; sisters, Linda Bolden, Wendy Harris both of Houma; Elnora Francois and husband Wilbert of St. Cloud, Fl., and Judy Smith of Detroit; and two grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Harris, Sr. and Laura Celestine Harris; sister, Norma Jean Harris; and brother, Wilbert Harris, Jr.

He was a member of the Knight of Peter Claver # 338 and was a former member of the Royal Dukes Social and Civic Club. He enjoyed life, family and friends.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 8, at Community Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 9, at St. Lucy Catholic Church with mass to follow. He will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houma

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
