Janet Elizabeth Samanie Reiley, 41, a native and resident of Houma, La. died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 9:00pm of a heart attack.


She is survived by her former husband, Michael Cardell Reiley; two daughters, Misty Dawn Reiley and her fiancé Benji Lirette and Sierra Lynn Toups; two brothers, Michael Samanie, Sr. and his wife Brenda and Chris Samanie; three sisters, Judy Cosby and her husband Ray, Darlene Samanie, and Cheryl Samanie; five grandchildren, Bradley and Madison Martin, Amy Bijeaux, David Triche, and Cloe Lirette.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivy Paul, Jr. and Ruth Marie, Porche Samanie; one son, Jason Samanie; one godchild, James Cosby; grandparents, Ivy Paul, Sr. and Angelle Hebert Samanie, and Liley Anthony Sr. and Inez Marie Boudoin Porche; one brother, Wayne Samanie; two sisters, Brenda Martin and Joy Samanie.

Janet was a Baptist and a member of Coteau Baptist Church. She loved being with family and friends. She loved to cook and was know for her barbecue meatballs and sausage. She enjoyed being around her grandchildren and was an unselfish caregiver to her beloved son Jason whom she is now reunited with emotionally and physically. She was a stranger to no one and a friend to all. Everyone who had the honor to know and meet Janet will sadly miss her.

There will be a memorial service for Janet at Coteau Baptist Church Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 5:00pm.

Falgout Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
